Finance Specialist, Asset Management

Trách nhiệm chính

• Maintain accurate and complete asset records across campuses, including fixed assets, intangible assets, leased assets, tools, inventory, capital expenditure, and construction‑in‑progress, in compliance with VAS and AASB.
• Process asset transactions in financial systems, such as additions, capitalisation, transfers, disposals, write‑offs, depreciation, and amortisation, following approved documentation and finance procedures.
• Coordinate and manage annual physical stocktake processes, including preparation of listings, templates, instructions, and reconciliation of results with system records.
• Prepare monthly and year‑end asset‑related reporting and reconciliations, supporting depreciation, amortisation, lease accounting, construction‑in‑progress updates, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain audit‑ready asset schedules and working papers, support statutory audits, group reporting, tax reviews, and internal control assessments.
• Perform regular data quality reviews of asset master data, ensuring accuracy of classifications, locations, custodians, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (Accounts Payable, Procurement, Property Services, ITS, asset custodians) to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and provide guidance on asset processes.
• Identify and resolve documentation gaps, unusual transactions, classification issues, and potential non‑compliance, escalating complex matters to the Finance Manager.

Yêu cầu công việc

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5‑6 years of relevant experience in finance operations, asset management, inventory control, audit support, or a related role.
• Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles, depreciation methodologies, capitalisation requirements, and asset lifecycle management under VAS and/or IFRS/AASB.
• Demonstrated experience in administering fixed asset records, stocktake coordination, reconciliations, documentation control, and asset‑related reporting within a finance operations environment.
• Strong experience with ERP systems and asset management modules; experience with Workday is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret asset data and generate actionable insights.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of data accuracy and record integrity.
• Strong understanding of compliance, governance, audit trail and internal control principles related to asset records, stocktake, documentation and finance operations processes.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross‑functional and matrix environments.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines and work accurately during month‑end, year‑end, stocktake, audit and reporting periods.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills including report preparation and presentation skills.
• English proficiency: IELTS (General) score of at least 6.0 (or equivalent).
• Appointment subject to passing Working with Children check.
• Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with RMIT values and leadership model.
